Needle & Thread
Self Guided BFA Degree Project
Needle & Thread: Record Rodeo is a traveling vinyl trading pop-up that reimagines the physical experience of music in a digital age. Rooted in community, storytelling, and tactile design, the event encourages participants to swap records, share memories, and reconnect through analog experiences. Each pop-up features a unique visual identity inspired by its host city, starting with Austin, Texas, which blends nostalgic vinyl culture with contemporary design. Through branding, physical artifacts like a “Record Passport,” and immersive event materials, this project explores how design can build connection and revive the communal spirit of music collecting. My final deliverable was a welcome booth for my imagined event, which I fully designed and built.
I am very proud of how this project turned out, and I had immense personal and professional growth during my semester of developing and creating this idea. I plan to try and make this event a real thing one day! Below is a slideshow of my process and how I curated this project from start to finish.
